Kevin Kurányi nominated for Seleção
Kevin Kurányi, forward of Schalke 04 in the German Bundesliga, has been nominated on Wednesday by Coach Carlos Dunga for the Brazil National Team.
Kurányi, born in Brazil, is at the moment the best striker in Germany. He has scored 17 times in the actual season. Though, he is not nominated for the German National Team, as he had left in frustration a game in 2008 and after that being punished by Jogi Low, the German Coach.
Carlos Dunga now took advantage of a new rule by the FIFA, that allows Kurányi to switch teams, though he already has played for Germany. This rule, article 15 of FIFA reglement, says since March 16th, that players can change teams, unless they have played a FIFA tournament. Kurányi, luckily, only played twice at the European Continental Tournaments and never at a FIFA World Cup.
Now Kevin Kurányi, who has both a German and Brazilian passport, will be looking forward to win the World Cup on the side of Fabiano and Robinho for the Canarinhos in South Africa.
You will find more infos in our new print magazine at the kiosks, coming out on April 1st.
